POLISH SUPERMODEL MAGDALENA FRACKOWIAK

Dear readers of Sport&Beauty. Today we’re traveling to Poland to meet one of the most promising fashion models of our days, Polish supermodel Magdalena Frackowiak. Born in Gdansk in 1984, Magdalena began treading the catwalk in 2006. Since then she has participated in countless fashion shows. She has walked for the most prestigious designers such as Just Cavalli, Balenciaga, Nina Ricci, Christian Dior, Elie Saab, Carolina Herrera, Givenchy, and Jean Paul Gaultier and starred in ad campaigns for Ralph Lauren, Alessandro Dell'Acqua, and Oscar de la Renta. She’s a regular face in the most important fashion magazines and has landed the pages of "Vogue", "Harper's Bazaar", "i-D", and "Numéro". Besides, she’s also one of the gorgeous Victoria’s Secret angels and walked in the 2010 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. Here you are Magdalena Frackowiak, a Polish angel.




Polish model Magdalena Frackowiak was born in Gdansk on October 4, 1984. When she was only sixteen, Magdalena’s mother sent some pictures to a model contest organized by a model agency in Warsaw. Magdalena won the contest and came to the attention of talent scout Darek Kumosa from Model Plus. This is the way she was discovered. After winning the contest the Polish Model got her first paid assignment for “Machina” magazine although her big break came in the early 2000,s. In April 2006 Magdalena landed her first magazine cover for “Glamour” Italy and started to make a name for herself in the fashion world. In September she landed the cover of “Elle” Poland and in October opened Yves Saint Laurent’s 2007 spring fashion show in Paris being considered by Style.com as one of the most promising models of the season. In February 2007 Magdalena appeared in an editorial of “Vogue” China and closed in Milan and Paris Alessandro Dell’Aqcua’s and Christian Dior’s Fall fashion shows. In March and May she appeared in editorials for “Harper’s Bazaar” and “Vogue” China and Germany, in June landed the cover of “Flair” Italy, became the image of Ralph Lauren and was photographed by Craig McDean for Christian Dior’s lingerie ad campaign. In August the Polish model landed the cover of “Vogue” Italy (together with Bielorrusian model Maryna Lynchuk) where she repeated again starring an editorial in September. Already in September Magdalena Frackowiak opened Sue Stemp’s, Luca Luca’s, Pucci’s, and Nina Ricci’s 2008 Spring fashion shows in Milan, New York and Paris closing Sue Stemp’s, J.Mendel’s, Just Cavalli’s, Balenciaga’s, and Costume National’s ones. In Octobre Magdalena left Next Paris and New York and moved to Elite Paris and DNA Management and put an end to the year appearing in a couple of editorials for “Vogue” France. 


2008 was a frantic year in Magdalena’s career. At the beginning of the year she extended her contract with Ralph Lauren and became the image of Alessandro Dell’Acqua. Already in January she appeared in an editoral of “Vogue” Japan and walked in Paris for Armani Privé’s, Chanel’s, Christian Dior’s, Givenchy’s, Jean Paul Gaultier’s, and Valentino’s Spring fashion shows. In February Magdalena closed in New York and Milan Malo’s, J.Mendel’s, and Fendi’s Fall fashion shows and landed again the pages of “Vogue” Italy. In March the Polish model appeared in an editorial of “i-D” and in April was granted the status of top model by “Vogue” France. In May Magdalena appeared in an editorial of “Allure” and opened Christian Dior’s resort fashion show in New York . Immediately after that, she landed the cover of “10”. In July she walked in Paris for Armani Privé’s, Christian Lacroix’s, Christian Dior’s, Chanel’s and Givenchy’s Fall Winter fashion shows and in August appeared in an editorial of “Interview” (featuring Gucci) and starred in Oscar de la Renta’s, Ralph Lauren’s, and Alessandro Dell’Acqua’s ad campaigns. In September she appeared in editorials for “Vogue” UK and “i-D” and walked in New York, London and Milan for PHI’s, Julien McDonald’s and Gianfranco Ferré’s 2009 Spring fashion shows closing Proenza Schouler’s and Jil Sander’s ones in New York and Milan. In October Magdalena landed the cover of “Vogue” Germany and editorials for “Vogue” France and Japan and in November she starred in editorials for “Vogue” Japan and “V” and posed for the winter issue of “Pop”. 



2009 was also a very busy year for our friend Magdalena. In January, and for the third time, she appeared in an editorial of “Vogue” Japan, walked in Paris for Armani Privé’s, Chanel’s, Christian Dior’s, Givenchy’s, Jean Paul Gaultier’s and Valentino’s 2010 Spring couture fashion shows and became the image of Kenzo. The following month Magdalena opened in New York, Milan, and Paris Matthew Williamson’s, Blumarine’s, Lanvin’s, Louis Vuitton’s, and Sophia Kokosalaki’s Fall fashion shows closing in London and New York Julien Macdonald’s, Alexander McQueen’s, and Sophia Kokosalaki’s ones. In April she appeared in editorials of “Vogue” Japan and “Numero”, in May landed the covers of “Numéro” and “Vogue” Russia and in June Magdalena reappeared in a new editorial for “Vogue” France. In July the Polish model returned to the catwalk to walk for Chanel’s, Christian Dior’s, Givenchy’s, Elie Saab’s, and Jean Paul Gaultier’s Fall couture fashion shows. In September Magdalena starred in editorials of “Vogue” China and “Harper’s” Bazaar, opened in Paris Alexander McQueen’s, Viktor & Rolf’s, and Elie Saab’s 2010 Spring fashion shows and closed in New York and Paris Carolina Herrera’s, Costume National’s and Elie Saab’s one. To put an end to the year she signed a fragrance contract with Gianfranco Ferré’s “In The Mood For Love”.


At the beginning of 2010, Magdalena signed a fragrance contract with Givenchy’s “Eaudemoiselle”, appeared in an editorial of “Vogue” Italy and walked in Paris for Chanel’s, Givenchy’s, Elie Saab’s, Jean Paul Gaultier’s and Christian Dior’s Spring couture fashion shows. In February she landed the covers of “Dazed & Confused” and “Vogue” Russia, in March appeared in an editorial of “Numéro”, opened in Paris Stella McCartney’s Fall fashion show and closed Haider Ackermann’s one. During the Summer, the Polish model closed Christian Dior’s Fall couture fashion show in Paris , appeared in editorials of “Numéro” and “Allure” and became the image of Lanvin. In September she opened Carolina Herrera’s 2011 Spring fashion show in New York and closed Giorgio Armani’s one. In October Magdalena landed the cover of “Vogue” Korea and appeared in the fall issue of “Numéro Homme” and the cover of the winter issue of “Muse”. Finally in November she walked in the greatest show on earth, the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.



In 2011 Magdalena got off to a good start appearing in the renowned Pirelli calendar photographed by Karl Lagerfeld. Already in January, the Polish model opened Elie Saab’s Spring fashion show in Paris , walked also for Christian Dior’s, Jean Paul Gaultier’s, Armani Prive’s, and Chanel’s ones and became the image of Blumarine. In February Magdalena closed No.21’s and John Galliano’s Fall fashion shows in Paris and Milan and in the following months appeared in editorials of “Numéro” (March), “Vogue” Italy (April), and “Vogue” Spain (June). In September she opened Diesel’s Black Gold 2012 Spring fashion show in New York and closed Dolce & Gabbana’s one. Besides appearing in so many fashion magazines and shows Magdalena also starred (together with Baptiste Giabiconi and Sebastien Jondeau) in Karl Lagerfeld’s video for Hogan.
