The big cruise news in Alaska is Celebrity has decided to bring one of its very popularSolstice class ships to the area starting voyages 2013. Some may argue that at almost 3000 passengers, a ship this large would be too big for passengers to fully enjoy the experience. One thing that can be said however is that, the deployment of this vessel proves that the Alaska market is once again a desired destination.
Celebrity already have the Millennium and the Century in Alaska. Just to make things confusing the ship joining them will be the Celebrity Solstice of the Solstice Class. The Solstice will sail seven night round trip cruises from Seattle, with visits to Victoria, Ketchikan, Juneau and Skagway, as well as the classic scenic cruising in the Inside Passage and Tracy Arm.
Before and after the Alaska season, Solstice will offer Pacific Coastal cruises, including a nine-night wine-themed cruise from Ensenada to Seattle in May and a 10-night wine-themed cruise in September that also includes an overnight in San Francisco and a view of the America's Cup finals.
For anybody who is not familiar with the 5 Star Solstice Class, the unique on board facilities include, an half acre grass lawn, hot Glass shows, Aqua Spa, a Vodka and Caviar Ice bar .The unparalleled entertainment program on board is always massively popular, and the cuisine is always a talking point, as it is hard to beat.
