Guild Wars 2 shirt designs up for voting

Guild Wars 2 fans have been clamoring for a few things over the years. The first repeated request, a release date, was granted just last week. Two other things -- a way to turn into walking billboards for ArenaNet and a way to give the company more money -- are soon to be realized as well.

Until now, Guild Wars 2 clothing has been reserved only for the lucky and dedicated few who can get themselves to conventions. Soon shirts branded with the awesome art associated with Guild Wars 2 will be available for the masses. Better still, you can have a say in what shirts get made. There's a small gallery of possible designs hosted on the Guild Wars 2Facebook page. Check it out, pick your three favorites, and vote for those favorites. The poll is only open until 3:00 p.m. EDT on July 6th, so don't deliberate too long.

AIR POLLUTION IN THE CHEMICAL PROCESS INDUSTRIES

Natural gas and crude distillates such as naphtha from petroleum refigare used as feedstocks to manufacture a wide range of petrochemicals that are in turn used in the manufacture of consumer goods. Basic petrochemicals are manufactured by cracking, reforming, and other processes, and include olefins (such as ethylene, propylene, butylenes, and butadiene) and aromatics (such as benzene, toluene, and xylenes). The capacity of naphtha crackers is generally of the order of 250,000 to 750,000 metric tons per year (tpy) of ethylene production. Some petrochemical plants also have alcohol and oxo-compound manufacturing units on site. The base petrochemicals or products derived from them, along with other raw materials, are converted to a wide range of products.

Among them are:

Resins and plastics such as low-density polyethylene (LDPE), high-density polyethylene (HDPE), linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE), polypropylene, polystyrene, and polyvinyl chloride (PVC);
Synthetic fibers such as polyester and acrylic engineering polymers such as acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS);
Rubbers, including styrene butadiene rubber (SBR) and polybutadiene rubber (PBR);
Solvents;
Industrial chemicals, including those used for the manufacture of detergents such as linear alkyl benzene (LAB) and of coatings, dyestuffs, agrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, and explosives.
Chemical compounds manufactured at petrochemical plants include methanol, formaldehyde, and halogenated hydrocarbons. Formaldehyde is used in the manufacture of plastic resins, including phenolic, urea, and melamine resins. Halogenated hydrocarbons are used in the manufacture of silicone, solvents, refrigerants, and degreasing agents.

Olefins (organics having at least one double bond for carbon atoms) are typically manufactured from the steam cracking of hydrocarbons such as naphtha. Major olefins manufactured include ethylene, propylene, butadiene, and acetylene. The olefins manufactured are used in the manufacture of polyethylene, including lowdensity polyethylene (LDPE) and high-density polyethylene (HDPE), and for polystyrene, polyvinyl chloride, ethylene glycol (used along with dunethyl terphthalate, DMT, as feedstock to the polyester manufacturing process), ethanol amines (used as solvents), polyvinyl acetate (used in plastics), polyisoprene (used for synthetic rubber manufacture), polypropylene, acetone (used as a solvent and in cosmetics), isopropanol (used as a solvent and in pharmaceuticals manufacturing), acrylonitrile (used in the production of acrylic fibers and nitrile rubber), propylene glycol (used in pharmaceuticals manufacturing), and polyurethane. Butadiene is used in the manufacture of polybutadiene rubber (PBR) and styrene butadiene rubber (SBR). Other C, compounds manufactured include butanol, which is used in the manufacture of solvents such as methyl ethyl ketone

Cooling Towers: Design and Operation Considerations

Cooling towers are a very important part of many chemical plants. They represent a relatively inexpensive and dependable means of removing low grade heat from cooling water.

Closed Loop Cooling Tower System

The make-up water source is used to replenish water lost to evaporation. Hot water from heat exchangers is sent to the cooling tower. The water exits the cooling tower and is sent back to the exchangers or to other units for further cooling.

Types of Cooling Towers

Cooling towers fall into two main sub-divisions: natural draft and mechanical draft. Natural draft designs use very large concrete chimneys to introduce air through the media. Due to the tremendous size of these towers (500 ft high and 400 ft in diameter at the base) they are generally used for water flowrates above 200,000 gal/min. Usually these types of towers are only used by utility power stations in the United States. Mechanical draft cooling towers are much more widely used. These towers utilize large fans to force air through circulated water. The water falls downward over fill surfaces which help increase the contact time between the water and the air. This helps maximize heat transfer between the two.

Mechanical Draft Counterflow Tower and Mechanical Draft Crossflow Tower
Mechanical draft towers offer control of cooling rates in their fan diameter and speed of operation. These towers often contain several areas (each with their own fan) calledcells.

Sotheby’s Auctions Antique Horological Pieces

Most auctions that are related to antiquities take place in important cities of the world such as Dubai, Hong Kong, Paris, London and New York. On that note, Sotheby’s Geneva sold significant clockwork inventions in May this year covering five centuries of art related to horology. The entire segment was dedicated to Brequet French clock maker who designed watches and clocks to the royal families all over the Europe. The honor of inventing first wristwatch also went to him in 1810.

The auction featured carriage clock and the huge travelling clock which were estimated to sell for $385,000-495,000. The focus of the auction was rare time pieces such as keyless chronometer watch by S. Smith & Son created in 18 carat yellow gold estimated at $16,500-27,500. The 16th and 17th century’s clocks being more decorative and elaborative are the real art pieces as well as educative luxury items. Elephant clock with brass gilt was auctioned for $512,000. Automation clocks were extremely intricately designed, sometime with musical tunes.

Bonhams is one of the world’s prestigious auctioneers for antiques, is now offering a sturdy clock even bombing did not stop its ticking which has not been moved since 279 years which is also a part of the sale that is scheduled to 20th June. The clock is in very good condition which valued at $46,590 – $77,650. Antique clocks fetch a lot of money but there are many factors to determine its value like mechanical features, age, manufacturer, and condition. The value affect on its valuable metals, designs, historical value and mechanisms. You will have to consult experts if you are selling or buying a clock, most importantly through internet.

The Perfect Ten: Amazing amateur MMO cosplay

I find the whole cosplay subculture at conventions to be both foreign and fascinating. On one hand, I deeply admire the dedication and time it takes to put together a complex outfit and then spend all day wearing this custom-made sweatsuit. On the other hand, it does tend to bring out some folks' narcissism and unnecessary cleavage.

While many facets of geek and video game culture are adequately represented by those crazy cosplayers, I don't see as much when it comes to MMORPGs. Was it truly underrepresented, I wondered, or have I just never looked?

Consider the following 10 costumes the result of an afternoon or two combing through so much amateur cosplay that it vastly exceeded the recommended amount as set by the American Medical Association. I'm glad to make the sacrifice for you, and besides, you just know those doctors are the ones in these outfits, anyway.

(Please note that if you're looking for more skin than skill, this will not be the list for you!)

1. Froglok from EverQuest

This amphibious warrior made a splash at the 2008 SOE Fan Faire, eventually netting the top prize in the costume contest. Rumor is that he still wears this to his day job as a claims adjuster for MetLife.

2. Gwen from Guild Wars

Guild Wars has a very healthy cosplay following, but among the many scantily clad Ritualists and Elementalists that populate the field, one lady came up with an award-winning Gwen outfit. Aurora Astralis won the grand prize of the official 2008 Guild Wars Halloween costume contest with her spot-on representation of everyone's favorite grumpy Mesmer.

3. Elios Sorcerer from Aion

Russian artist Lina is a huge fan of Aion, and it shows in her wonderfully detailed outfit that includes a giant wingspan. One does wonder how she expects to do anything than stay in a single spot and pose while wearing that, but perhaps that's the point.

4. Shaman with turtle mount from World of Warcraft

WoW is probably the most represented MMO when it comes to cosplay, and the sheer variety and passion of costume designers makes it hard to pick any "best" one. However, this turtle mount BlizzCon2008 winner certainly stands out -- and just wait until you see it in motion.

College student Amanda Hosler won the contest in both 2007 and 2008. The turtle mount was animated and made around an electric wheelchair. It took the help of her father and three months to fully assemble the beast.

5. Ensemble from Diablo III

Korea is nuts for cosplay, and the level of competition can be so fierce that there are actually teams of dedicated cosplayers that receive a fanatical following. The Spiral Cats is one such team, and the artists' work on Diablo III costumes so impressed Blizzard that they received a featured article on the site.

6. Ratonga from EverQuest II

Last year's winner of Fan Faire's Best in Show is so adorably cute that we'd take him home in a split second. Seriously.

Look at him! You can just imagine that he's twitching that little nose! Who's the magically superior pyromaniac? You are! Yes, you are!

7. Virindi from Asheron's Call

The terror is real. The hugs are free.

This charming little number is a Virindi from -- of all games -- Asheron's Call. Seriously, Asheron's Callcosplay. Can you believe it? I was both delighted and amazed to find this number, not just because someone took the time to do an AC outfit but because it was done so dang well.

8. Warrior Priest from Warhammer Online

I'm not 100% sure whether this outfit was inspired from the MMO or the franchise (as both share the same source material), but we're going to call this a win for awesome outfits in either case.

The real win here is the insane level of detail that went into this costume, especially in the attached trinkets that add personality to the whole getup.

9. Faction trio from The Secret World

This picture popped up on the Secret World forums a while back, and while I'm not sure whether it's a fan effort or officially done, it's pretty nifty all around. The Templars, Illuminati, and Dragon each get a representative, and they look none too pleased to be in close proximity to each other.

10. Satele Shan from Star Wars: The Old Republic

Among the legions of Smugglers and Trooper cosplayers, Nebulaluben made her mark as an incredible Satele Shan. There's good and there's "holy mackerel, she just won the internet" good. Guess which one this is?

Shipwrecked Veuve-Clicquot Champagne to be Auctioned

On the Aaland Islands somewhere near the seabed between Finland and Sweden an array of Champagne bottles were found in a shipwreck. The 179 bottles were discovered in 2010 by divers Christian Ekstrom. Out of the 179, 62 bottles are still in a drinkable state and belong to the prestigious Veuve-Clicquot, Juglar and Piper-Heidsieck brands. The champagne bottles have been traced to the years 1841-1850. This vintage champagne which is 170 years old will go on auctions and an estimated price of €10,000 has been assigned to the 11 bottles that will be available at the auction. All the three brands of champagne will be auctioned. The auction will include four bottles from Veuve-Clicquot, One bottle from Piper-Heidsieck, and four from Juglar. The Juglar brand it is said is no more in vogue and it closed some time in 1829. All the connoisseurs and collectors of vintage champagnes are invited for the auction and can go in either for a telephonic bid or online through the Artcurial Live Bid. The bids will be held in Mariehamn.

The 11 rare champagne bottles are however not the first ones to be auctioned at the Aland Islands. The islands have previously auctioned two bottles which were also unearthed from a shipwreck. The auction was held last year and new world record was created after one of the bottles fetched a price of €30,000. Encouraged by the success, the Aland Islands received an international tender invitation and the Government of Aland Islands decided to conduct another auction as well. The current auction is being organised together with the Artcurial Briest-Poulain-F Tajan. The auction is called the Aland’s Champagne Rendezvous.

Lets have a closer look at these vintage champagne bottles.

The Veuve-Clicquot Auction

The Veuve-Clicquot Ponsardin is a prestigious house of Champagne belonging to the exotic town of Reims in France. A historic brand, the Veuve-Clicquot was the most favoured brand amongst the royalty and nobility all across Europe. It is also a part of the Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy luxury brand and besides making champagne the Veuve-Clicquot also manufactures related products like the Clicq’up Origami Ice Bucket which can also be folded and easily stored in your laptop bag during the course of your travels. When relaxing one can cool the champagne in this very unique looking ice bucket.

Coming back to the Veuve-Clicquot auction, it will be held at the Alandica Congress and Conference Centre located in Mariehamn, Finland on the 8th of June. This rather historic bottle of champagne discovered after 170 years in a shipwreck can fetch anywhere between $12,430-$18,650.

One would be however like to know as to how these bottles are stil in a drinkable condition despite being buried under the sea for over a hundred years. Wine experts suggest that it was due to the adequate pressure of the Baltic sea, the temperature of around 4-6 degrees Celsius, which remained consistent throughout and the darkness provided a conducive environment for the champagne bottles to retain their quality and aroma.

Richard Juhlin, a champagne expert who tasted all the champagne bottles discovered at the shipwreck has stated that the unearthing of these bottles from the shipwreck has proved that even champagnes have the ability to age gracefully. They can over the years improve their quality and also develop the perfect aromas.

A Diamond Tuner for your Car

While manufacturing the Gemballa tuner, the makers were looking for something that could enhance the very character of a Porsche. A Porsche is known for its classy interior design and some great aerodynamics. However, it is the overall package and the look of the car that matters and grabs all the attention and eyeballs. Thus, Gemballa came up with the diamond tuner which will lend more detail to the car and balances the look of the car with its immensely popular features.

Andreas Schwarz, the CEO of Gemballa explains that they have used genuine diamonds for the tuner. Metal pigments, crystals and glass fragments have been clearly avoided. They have manufactured this fine and glittery tuner by grinding diamonds and then integrating it with paint thus making it convenient for the user to actually apply it like a paint both on the interiors as well as the exteriors of the car.

Grinding the diamonds proved to be an challenging task for the demands had to be reduced to just the right size so that they do not lose their original sheen and size. The reason why the manufacturers insisted on using diamonds for the car tuners was because diamonds work well under heat and pressure due to their carbon form, thus making it perfect for luxurious cars which are after all come with a carbon fibre body.

The diamond tuner also gives your car the shine which is attributed largely to the reflective property of diamonds. When polished with a diamond tuner the diamonds facets will reflect light thereby giving your car the dazzling effect.

It has been published this month in the USA in which they have introduced a new term “meta-luxury” and have tried to redefine the ultimate true meaning of luxury. They have explored it to be a both business and culture model.

This is a new concept which has been examined by the authors based on rarity, history, focus and craftsmanship. To find out true meaning of luxury and its implications on business and brands, they had a series of conversations with a range of world famous heads of unique brands, academics, excellent artists and master craftsmen and shared their unique views on cultural excellence.

Ricca and Robins, Managing Director of its Milan office and, Interbrand European Director, based in London respectively, argue that luxury is diluted, overstretched and overexposed. The book should be read by owners of brands for its in-depth analysis of strategic and economic dimensions.

Ricca and Robins, have decade’s experience in consulting renowned global brands. The book deals with belief that true luxury is the culture of excellence which will be passed across generations. The meta- luxury disputes normal concepts like profitability, extension, pricing, innovation and craftsmanship hoping to change the attitude on luxury. Vanguard welcomes the return of Brad McQuaid

If you're a fan of Vanguard, you know full well who Brad McQuaid is. If you're a fan ofEverQuest, you're probably also familiar with the name. And now, the man behind both games has returned to Vanguard after a lengthy hiatus to rejoin the development team. Considering the game is heading toward a free-to-play conversion in the not-too-distant future, it can certainly be seen as an auspicious event.

McQuaid is the focus of the game's newest Developer Spotlight, where he discusses his role in starting the game and in its early development. He confesses that he took a long break from playing the game, but he seems quite happy with how it's developed in his absence. Looking to the future, McQuaid also talks about making loot drops and quest rewards more viable throughout the game, encouraging players to explore a variety of zones instead of just a few old standards. The interview is remarkably low-key considering that the man in question was one of the driving forces behind the game's original launch. Players can draw their own conclusions about what McQuaid's return will mean for the game in the long run.

The Summoner's Guidebook: Balancing League of Legends' offense and defense items

Last week, we talked specifically about building League of Legends' attack damage champions and the multiplicative effects the various bonuses have on these heroes. Building attack items is fairly cut and dried. The good attack damage items (IE, BT, PD, LW) are common to most pure AD builds, and there's not a lot of reason to heavily deviate from building them.

Defense is another story, however. In Dominion, defense is more heavily itemized than in Summoner's Rift simply because irregular engagements happen constantly. On Summoners' Rift, there is more structure to specific engagements, and a single champion getting spotted out of place either results in an epic bait or a brutal gank. In those situations, defense doesn't help much.

However, it's important to itemize defense in any game mode, and in Dominion, it is outright critical. Building only damage items will cause your champion to get melted by enemy attacks very early on, while building defense allows you to play more aggressively and capitalize on damage opportunities with less risk. Building defense is also important for bruisers who must close the gap to melee range, which inevitably means taking more damage than normal. Want to know all about the best time to start building tank? Read on!

Before we get too far into talking about defense, I wanted to talk a bit about the goals for the Summoner's Guidebook. My goal is not to elevate people to the ranks of the top players, as there are many websites already dedicated to that. The Summoner's Guidebook is specifically targeted at less-experienced players who do not already know the ins and outs of the game. Inevitably, this will result in topics that are fairly well-explored by advanced players.

The goal of the Guidebook is to broaden the horizons of players who don't yet know all the tricks and strategies. While I do link to other articles or videos to illustrate my points, the Guidebook is intended as a standalone resource for players trying to learn the game. It is hard learning to play LoL as a newbie.League of Legends is a very difficult game to learn, especially if you learn on Summoners' Rift. While no amount of reading can replace practice, the goal of the Guidebook is to lessen that burden and illuminate some of the more arcane elements of the game.

This inevitably means that higher-level players will not find everything here useful. Hopefully, it is still entertaining to read, but being entertaining is not my goal. My goal is to teach, and the people in the greatest need of learning are novices. Once you're an expert, I highly recommend going to LolPro orSoloMid.net; they are fantastic resources and helped me personally improve my game.

And now, back to your regularly scheduled program!

Defense multiplies just like offense

Although it is commonly thought that defense follows diminishing returns, that is not exactly the case. Both armor and magic resistance follow the same basic rule: Each point of armor/MR that you get gives you 1% effective health against that particular type of damage. If you have 100 armor, you have 200% effective health against physical damage. If you have 150 MR, you have 150% effective health against magic damage.

Armor and magic resist also increase the effective value of shields and heals. A 200-point shield is effectively 300 extra hit points if you have 50 armor. Heals and lifesteal effects also are effectively multiplied; healing yourself for 50 HP means 150 effective health against magic damage if you have 200 MR. If you're a champion like Udyr, Warwick, or Mordekaiser, raising armor and magic resist give you a much greater benefit than raising maximum health. Additionally, the value of lifesteal multiplies if you also have defense. Consider this if you have a Bloodthirster. Extra defense helps make that lifesteal much more significant in terms of long-term survivability in a fight.

Extra HP is almost always good, too. If you already have a lot of armor or magic resist, bonus health becomes very good. Getting 200 extra HP means a lot more if your Rammus has 400 armor and 250 MR.

Damage resistance also exists, though it is much rarer. The main way to itemize it is from the Dominion-exclusive Odyn's Veil, which gives 10% resistance to all magic damage. Some champions, such as Poppy, Olaf, and Alistar, also have resistance abilities. Combining these effects with Odyn's Veil does nothave an additive effect. Percentage resistance multiplies on all other forms of resistance and also multiplies on itself. Kassadin's passive and an Odyn's Veil multiply to reduce incoming magic damage on him to 76.5% rather than 75% as expected.

Practical use of defense

One of the earliest uses of defense is to avoid being detonated by a burst caster. In the midgame, many casters have an incredibly powerful combo that will take off 70-100% of your health bar if it strikes you. Mercury Treads will soften the blow, often reducing death combos down to a more managable 50% of your life bar. A Negatron Cloak and the items that it builds into can also nullify the threat altogether. Even if you're focusing on building up your damage, you can grab items like Hexdrinker or Wit's End. If the enemy has a roaming burst caster or you're on Dominion against someone like Akali or Kassadin, you cannot neglect magic resist or you will pay the price.

Defense is what makes dueling possible. While damage is always a plus in a 1v1 or other small engagement, defense cuts down a lot of enemy damage for an exceedingly low cost. Acquiring 45 armor or MR costs roughly 700 gold, and that's an extra 45% effective health. It costs over twice that much to deal extra damage to counter it, and this can lead to victories in 1v1 even if your opponent is slightly ahead. Additionally, many defensive items have fantastic dueling benefits, such as the attack speed slows of Randuin's Omen or Frozen Heart.

One of the simplest counters to an enemy autoattack champion is Thornmail, which does a large amount of reflected magic damage back at the enemy. Many AD champions build more lifesteal to counter Thornmail, but this is a colossal mistake -- they're making the fight go faster but usually not in their favor. If the enemy builds Thornmail (or is Rammus), get magic resist! Because the reflected damage is magical, MR can shut down a lot of it. Here's an example: I was playing bottom lane in Dominion, and the enemy Tryndamere came down to fight me in the late game. He was pretty fed, and he could easily defeat me in a 1v1 confrontation. However, I spent some of my surplus cash on a Thornmail and easily crushed him afterward, despite his having multiple lifesteal items, using his ultimate, and starting the fight with full rage. MR can help you avoid being in the same situation as him.

Later in the game, enemy damage is through the roof. An enemy AD carry can typically three-shot an opponent with no defense (sometimes even two-shot), so building some armor in the lategame is mandatory unless you fight from so far away that there is no risk at all of being hit.

Diminshing returns again?

Although defensive stats always give a consistent amount of effective hit points, there is a somewhat diminishing effect on the value of defense. If you already have 200 armor, building more armor will not give you as much of a benefit as building damage. Additionally, having a huge number of tank items will discourage the enemy team from attacking you, which encourages you to build damage since you will not be focus-fired.

At lower skill levels, this is less true. Opponents frequently focus the easiest available target, which can lead to strong advantages with items like Thornmail. In general, if you are frequently the last ally standing in a fight as a tank, you could probably benefit from more damage items.

Some characters also have amazing base values that work just fine without needing extra damage items. Maokai, for instance, deals reasonable damage even if he is built as a full tank. However, most tanks will want to build something to solidify themselves as a threat. Typically, this is simply an item like Rod of Ages, Trinity Force, and Atma's Impaler, which synergize well with tanky builds. You should look at a build guide for the specific champion in question. While general advice is helpful, it will not replace specific knowledge of your character.

When to buy tank

It is usually a bad idea to buy defensive items right away, as damage is more important for last-hitting and winning your lane. Damage is better if you are poking a lot and worse if you are getting in a lot of sustained engagements. If both you and your opponent are poking but you are coming out behind, the answer is usually to play better and not to build defense.

If you are in a kill lane (a lane where one side is focused on getting kills), it is probably still better to build damage early rather than defense. If the enemy opponents are well-suited to killing their lane opponents rather than farming, the answer is to play safely and deny those opportunities rather than try to fight your way out of them.

I find myself wanting to build tank roughly around the time that my opponents reach the 5000-gold mark in the early midgame. At this point, the enemy generally has upgraded boots, a completed high-damage item, and several additional items that also boost damage. This is the first time when you should consider buying tanky items, but you can probably delay them if you are decisively winning your lane. If the situation is fairly even and you want to get ahead, tanky items can provide a boost when you commit to an engagement. However, if you have a strong jungler, you may still want to focus on damage to bolster the effectiveness of his ganks.

I do believe that building tank items after the 10k-gold mark is probably a little late. I find that at that point, enemies are doing so much damage that any mistake results in an empty health bar. While the answer can be to simply play more safely, tanky items provide a bit of a buffer and also allow you to bait an initiation more effectively.

On the Crystal Scar, tank items should be built sooner. Because teamfights occur as soon as the game starts, building any defense is helpful as the enemy will damage you unless you don't engage at all. The exact time to start is very champion-specific, but in general, building more tank helps you engage earlier and longer. If you're built as a glass cannon, you must frequently delay engaging until much of the fight has already occurred and your contribution will often be less than a more hybrid approach. Additionally, base numbers on skills are frequently more meaningful to the outcome of a fight than damage built from items. If your champion is focused on autoattacks, damage is always going to be mandatory, though.

While tank is a very important thing to build, and knowing how it impacts the game is critical, the exact timing of when to build tank is more art than science. When it's done just right, you truncate most of the benefits of your opponent's big ticket items. When it's done poorly, you end up contributing little due to mediocre damage. As with all things, there is no substitute for practice. Good luck and have fun!

APB's Reloaded Games merges with parent company

Reloaded Games, the operator of the revived APB Reloaded, has merged with parent company K2 Network. The new company retained the Reloaded Games moniker and intends it to signify a move to running more cross-platform MMOs. This is a change from K2's old practice of merely importing Korean games.

The new Reloaded Games covers both the GamersFirst platform (which includes, among other games, Fallen Earth) and Reloaded Productions studio. The studio will continue to be a subsidiary of the company.

Reloaded Games CEO Bjorn Book-Larsson says that this is just the first sign of a bold new initiative by the company: "We have already signed contracts with independent developers to use our platform and portal for their free-to-play game distribution. We will announce those agreements in the next couple of weeks."

Allods Online announces patch 3.0.4, new North American server

Allods Online players are probably still busy playing with their new toys from the recent patches, such as the new Dead City raid and the Bard class, but gPotato has plenty more tricks up its sleeve. In a new post on the game's official site, the studio has announcedAllods' next major update, patch 3.0.4. Information on the new update is scarce at the moment, but the post promises that "previews... of some of the new content and mechanics [players will] be able to experience in the new update" will be cropping up over the next few weeks on the official site. A few of these features include "changes to the mentor system and autorun, the Psionicist and Paladin reworks, new Allods to explore... and more."

But that's not all that this new update is bringing with it. North American players are in for an extra treat in the form of a brand-new server. That's right, in addition to all the fancy new features that 3.0.4 is bringing to the game, NA players will be able to start on a fresh, clean server. This is somewhat odd, considering that the game recently merged two of its servers into one. The studio claims that it will "go into more details about the server and what to expect in the first preview which will arrive tomorrow." While you wait on more juicy information, though, just head on over to the Allods official site to give the full post a read.

Drakensang raises Atlantis update from the deeps

Drakensang Online welcomes the citizens of Atlantis to its game world today. The hack-and-slash MMO pushed its largest update ever to the live servers, and it's so big that the ocean itself could not contain it. That's what we call "hyperbole" in the biz.

The Atlantis update is a wonder to behold. It includes a new continent with eight areas, 100 additional quests, and plenty of challenges for experienced players to tackle. The city itself is in ruins following its downfall by the giant snake Gorga. The update also includes a revamped world map that should help adventurers find their way.

In related news, Bigpoint claims that over eight million players have registered forDrakensang Online.
